Electronics and Communication Science is an ever growing field in today’s digital scenario. The curriculum provides a strong foundation in both the analytic and technological aspects of Electronics. The department has two well equipped State of the Art laboratories to provide necessary and sufficient practical knowledge, encouraging students to try their innovative research and development ideas. These laboratories provide facilities in the areas of Electronic Circuits, Linear and Digital Integrated Circuits, Microprocessors, and Microcontrollers, Analog and Digital Communication, Embedded Systems, Physics etc.

Electronics is the profession of applying scientific principles to the design and development, fabrication, repair & maintenance of Electrical/Electronic Machines, Instruments and Communication systems.
The discipline deals with electronic devices and software interfaces. The applications are far reaching, right from the indoors of the house to industries. The tasks of the Electronics and Communication Science graduates are to direct, control and test processes as well as to ensure safety, installation and functioning of the various mechanisms.

The department has state-of-the-art, modern and well-equipped separate laboratories for Physics and Electronics practical classes with adequate facilities. Students are provided with all the ICT (Information and Communication Technology) support in their Smart Classrooms and are encouraged to perform as digital learners. A well stocked department Library exclusively for the Electronics students is available.
Students who completed +2 Exam conducted by other State Government should get the Eligibility Certificate from the University of Madras to join this course.
